u-blox AG

u-blox is an international company headquartered in Switzerland, with sales organizations in the Americas, Europe and Asia. Founded in 1997, u-blox develops innovative positioning technology and products for the automotive, mobile communications and infrastructure markets.

As a leading fab-less developer and provider of GPS chipsets and GPS receiver modules, u-blox will design the baseband chip capable of receiving GALILEO and GPS signals.

Other tasks assigned to u-blox include defining the overall baseband system specifications (including chip size, architecture and functionality), developing the tracking and acquisition algorithms and implementing these into hardware and software. Additionally, u-blox will develop the software that combines measurement data from GPS and GALILEO satellites, bringing greater accuracy and better performance to the system through the inclusion of a greater number of satellite data available. Extensive testing will be carried out by u-blox at each project phase to ensure performance goals are met.
