Tampere University of Technology (TUT) carries out research in the field of positioning receivers at its Institute of Communication Engineering (ICE) and Institute of Digital and Computer Systems (ICDS).

ICE concentrates more on the receiver algorithms while IDCS is looking at navigation algorithm implementations and receiver hardware and software prototyping.
